Who owns this website?
The Charity Trends website is owned by CAF.
Who are CAF?
Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) is a registered charity that works to create greater value for charities and social enterprise. We do this by transforming the way donations are made and the way charitable funds are managed. Visit www.cafonline.org to find out more.
What do I do if I spot an error in the data?
If you spot an error in the data in the search tool or any part of the website, please let us know by filling in the form on the Contact us page, and we will investigate the issue. Alternatively, charities may contact the Charity Commission if they think that their information is incorrect.
How may I use the information available from the website?
You may download and keep the results of your searches, including any charts that you generate. You are welcome to use these to inform your own work or planning, and use the data in documents or presentations. However, we do ask that you reference CAF’s Charity Trends when you do so.
How can I benchmark against other charities?
The CAF Advisory team can work with charities to assist with benchmarking a charity’s profile against other charities to help ensure demonstration of value to potential donors. Call 03000 123 111, or fill in the Contact Us form to find out more about options and costs.
How can I use the data to shape my giving programme?
Charity Trends provides the most powerful collection of raw data on charities available on the web. However, there are two considerations you should bear in mind when using the data to inform your decision-making:
1) The data is based on a single source: the Charity Commission Annual Return
2) The data is cleaned by the Charity Commission, but as it is based upon submissions made by charities, it will only be as complete and accurate as the data they submitted in their Annual Return.
3) The Charity Trends website enables you to analyse and order the data according to a number of key criteria. However, you may wish to carry out further assessment both on this data and from other sources to ensure it fits with your charitable aims.
CAF's Advisory team can search for charities against bespoke criteria and provide detailed assessment of shortlisted charities. Contact the team on 03000 123 111, or fill in the Contact Us form.
How else can CAF support me in my search?
The CAF Advisory team can help you with all aspects of your charitable work. As a charity we can help you to benchmark your profile against other charities to ensure you are demonstrating your value to potential customers. As an individual or company, we can help you with all aspects of your giving strategy, from defining the aims, to design, running and evaluating your giving programme.
